Peru is a South American country known for its luxurious and historical civilization. The country’s capital is Lima. It’s a beautiful country bounded on the North by Ecuador and Columbia, East by Brazil, South by Chile, Southeast by Bolivia separated by the famous Lago Titika and West by the Pacific Ocean. Its partly an Amazon forest and where famous Machu Picchu on the Andes mountains believed to be an ancient Incan city is located. There’s a lot of artifacts and archeological demographics; thus, a must to explore. The top places to visit in Peru are Macchu Picchu, The Sacred Valley, Inca Trail, Cusco., and many more.

Sacred Valley
The Sacred Valley of the Incas/ Urubamba Valley is one of the top places to visit in Peru because it has an archeological site that is a part of the Incan Empire. Peru is famous for corn crops; they have hundreds of different corn varieties. The Incas used to drink a lot of chichas, a drink made from maize/corn to have more stamina and physical strength. If you explore the village, you can find ladies working in making the Alpaca coat or sweaters. Alpaca is very famous around the world for its material used made from Alpaca wool.
Cusco
Cusco is the capital of the Incan Empire. It’s a UNESCO Heritage Site. It’s one of the major tourist destinations in the world and top places to visit in Peru. The elevation is 3,400 m/11,200 ft, thus giving you that shortness of breath feeling when not acclimatized with it. Therefore, the coca leaves on which your hotel/accommodation recommends to eat helps to alleviate that shortness of breath. I was gasping for air literally for even just five steps ascending the stairs. I had eaten a guinea pig and drink pisco in one of the Peruvian restaurants, try it too!!
Machu Picchu
A UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the Seven Wonders of the World. It’s named the “Lost City of the Incas.” The architecture is a classical Inca style with stone drywall. The Incas praised the sun, and that explains a Temple of the Sun inside. The structure itself will make you wonder how engineering and architecture happened in this magnificent place in that era! It’s one of the top places to visit in Peru.
The Floating Uros Island
Know how the Uros people live in the Floating Uros Island with the Totora reeds construction materials. Their boats are from the same element of Totora reeds. The Island is at Lake Titikaka. It’s one of the top places to visit in Peru.
Overall, exploring Peru will give you spiritual enlightenment because it will improve your vision of how life it has to be. Your spirituality will open up into possibilities of transforming yourself into a better you. I traveled with one of my best travel buddy going to Peru for eight days of the tour starting from Lima and fly to Cusco and a train going to Aguas Calientes. Going to Machu Picchu has two options: through hiking or a bus trip from Aguas Calientes. Moreover, our tour guide was very informative and knowledgeable about Peruvian history. I had enjoyed every minute of my vacation in this part of the world.
